How to Get to Hope-Hill School; Where to Park

Hope-Hill adjoins the Martin Luther King. Jr. National Historic Site. Visitors to Hope-Hill may park in the Historic Site’s parking lot. (There is no charge, and there is no problem about parking there.)

From Interstate 75/85 North or South take exit #248C Freedom Parkway. Southbound travelers must merge over 4 lanes, in order to make the turn onto Boulevard. At the traffic light, turn right onto Boulevard NE, and make another immediate right turn, at the next traffic light, onto John Wesley Dobbs Avenue. The visitor parking lot will be on the left.

From Interstate 20 East or West, exit at Interstate 75/85 North take exit #248C Freedom Parkway. At the traffic light, turn right onto Boulevard NE, and make another immediate right turn, at the next traffic light, onto John Wesley Dobbs Avenue. The visitor parking lot will be on the left.

After you have parked walk out of the parking lot on the Irwin Street side (in the direction of the Historic Site), turn left on Irwin, and walk half a block to Boulevard. Turn right on Boulevard. You will see the entrance to the school. Ring the bell, enter, and go into the office (on your right, just after the front door).

See the map below, reproduced from the National Park Service website; it shows Hope-Hill by its former name, John Hope Elementary.
