Atlanta Parents and Community Show Continued Support by Advocating to Legislators on Behalf of Education in APS!!

ATLANTA. Atlanta Parents and Community to host 7th Annual Legislative Reception with elected officials in the state of Georgia. BOE, Atlanta city council, Fulton County, state house and senate will mingle with Atlanta citizens to discuss education. Special Guest Speakers State Superintendent Richard Woods, with APS Superintendent Dr. Meria Carstarphen.

Over 7 years ago, parent leaders from across the city came together to find collective ways to advocate for education in Atlanta Public Schools. In an effort, to unify the city’s diverse communities and advocate for ALL children, these leaders decided it was time to find ways to work together.  Out of this collaboration Atlanta Parents for Atlanta Public Schools was birthed.  The purpose is to bring families and communities together with elected officials to de-mystify and de-construct the legislative process by bringing the “Gold Dome to the Community!”

This event is free and open to the public with free parking.
